MPHI is pleased to announce the formation of a new center, the Center for Precision Public Health (CPPH). This Center will continue the work of MPHI’s Center for Strategic Health Partnerships (CSHP) and the Center for Data Management and Translational Research (CDMTR). CPPH will align itself with the missions of both prior Centers, which have worked to support public health initiatives, research, and education.
CPPH will focus on five subject areas: community engagement, data analytics and evaluation, child and adolescent mental health, education and training, and public health infrastructure. The Center will work to develop new research, support data-driven initiatives, facilitate community-led program development, and provide technical assistance that advances health equity and public health.
“Our Center is steadfast in its commitment to improving the health and well-being of every individual by reducing health disparities, facilitating community-led program development, and providing technical assistance to those who need it most,” said Mat Edick, PhD, Center Director. “I am thankful for the opportunity to lead the Center for Precision Public Health, where two strong Centers with a shared vision and complementary expertise join together to advance public health.”
In 2023, CSHP was granted status as an approved Pediatric Portfolio Sponsor for the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). CPPH will carry on this designation, which allows the Center to design and evaluate quality improvement projects that help to increase access to health care for underserved populations.
Additionally, CPPH was recently approved as an American Medical Association (AMA) education hub trusted content provider. This approval will allow CPPH to share education opportunities through the AMA Ed Hub. The designation will also provide CPPH with better opportunities to impact health outcomes on a national scale, resulting in better reach for project work.
