MPHI CEO Dr. Renée Branch Canady was recently appointed Board Chair of the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB). PHAB is the sole national accrediting body for public health in the United States, working to advance standards of excellence and accountability for public health departments and their partners, and to promote evidence-based approaches that strengthen public health infrastructure.
Members of PHAB’s Board of Directors represent various organizations in the public health sector, such as state and county health departments and higher education institutions. Board members have demonstrated a commitment to public health, dedicating their careers to its improvement and innovation.
In addition to Dr. Canady’s appointment as Board Chair, PHAB also updated its Accreditation Standards and Measures and welcomed two new members to the board. In PHAB’s announcement of these changes, Dr. Canady shared a message about the new appointees.
“PHAB is honored to welcome these outstanding leaders to our Board of Directors,” said Dr. Canady. “Their perspectives and expertise further position PHAB to uphold standards of excellence, advance innovative partnerships, and build stronger alignment across the multi-sector health field.”
