Overview

MI-EfC will tackle Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) head-on, with a commitment to cultivating a safe and nurturing environment for every child within the state. To achieve this, MI-EfC will concentrate its efforts on the following strategic initiatives, enhancing data availability, creating public education campaigns to instill a shared responsibility for the safety and well-being of Michigan’s children and creating support and education for unlicensed childcare providers to equip them with comprehensive knowledge about ACEs, childhood development, and strategies to proactively prevent ACEs while bolstering resilience. MI-EfC partners with the Michigan ACE Initiative. MIACE is a statewide coalition of cross-sector partners committed to raising awareness of the prevalence and impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences on Michigan’s children and communities. MIACE creates and administers ACE-aware, trauma-informed training and education. MIACE partners implement programs to foster protective factors and build resilience among Michigan’s children who have experienced trauma and adversity.
