MPHI CFO Jana Dean was reappointed to the Early Childhood Investment Corporation (ECIC) by Governor Whitmer. Dean’s term will span from October 10, 2024, until July 22, 2028. The ECIC’s mission is to ensure the success of all children by focusing attention on the early years of child development, from prenatal to age five.

Dean has served on the executive committee of the ECIC since 2020. Since the ECIC’s inception in 2005, the organization has invested over $225 million into Michigan communities and impacted the lives of 176,043 children. The ECIC upholds four strategic goals to achieve its mission:

  1. Move Michigan toward being a leading investor in early childhood.
  2. Make early learning and care affordable and accessible.
  3. Improve access to health care, including social-emotional health.
  4. Elevate family and parent leadership.

Jana Dean has been committed to serving Michigan communities throughout her career. Prior to her time as CFO of MPHI, she served as Finance and Operations Internal Audit Manager at Michigan State University. Dean earned both her Bachelor of Arts in accounting and Master of Business Administration from Michigan State University.
