MPHI’s Chief Strategy Officer, Dr. Paul Elam, will receive the Youth Justice Lifetime Achievement Award from Michigan Center for Youth Justice (MCYJ). Dr. Elam will be honored for his achievements alongside two other youth justice advocates at MCYJ’s 70th Anniversary Gala on September 25, 2026. MCYJ focuses on advancing youth justice policies and practices and guiding youth to reach their full potential.
“Dr. Paul Elam is receiving the Youth Justice Lifetime Achievement Award for how his unwavering dedication and significant accomplishments have made a lasting positive impact on the lives of young people across Michigan,” read MCYJ’s announcement.
Dr. Elam has devoted his career to child protection, community violence intervention, and criminal and social justice. He earned his PhD and two degrees from Michigan State University, with studies in Family and Child Ecology, Criminal Justice, Urban Studies, and Measurement and Methods. At MPHI, Dr. Elam leads multiple initiatives committed to advancing the health, well-being, and safety of youth across Michigan and beyond.
