Dr. Shondra Marshall, Director, recently released her new book, “Leadership Training Guide: The Four-Week Guide on Building Productive and Cohesive Team Members While Equipping Successful Leaders.”

Dr. Marshall’s training guide is described as a four-week onboarding tool for anyone transitioning onto a new team or into a new role. This could be a team at a place of employment or a new board/committee/position. It is to be used during the onboarding period of any role to support and bolster team morale and aid in cohesion. The guide provides multiple reminders to level set and align as a team and requires critical reflection from each reader. The basis of the leadership training guide is that team success and goal achievement is determined by the cohesion of the team, and the commitment of leaders and team members to be the best version of themselves.

Dr. Marshall brings a wealth of personal leadership experience and distinction to the contents of her book. She leads a team of dedicated public health professionals in her role as a Director at MPHI and also commits her time to service on multiple boards. Dr. Marshall works to train students, youth, and aspiring leaders in the mechanisms that drive systemic change. In 2024, Dr. Marshall was recognized for her work with the Clifton R. Wharton Jr. Distinguished Alumni Award from the Michigan State University Black Alumni (MSUBA) organization.
