MPHI CEO Dr. Renée Branch Canady was recently named Board Chair-Elect of iMPROve Health. iMPROve Health is Michigan’s designated Quality Improvement Organization (QIO). The organization is a recognized leader in healthcare quality improvement, boasting over 40 years of healthcare improvement experience.
Dr. Canady became CEO of MPHI in 2014 and has committed 30+ years of her life to the advancement of public health. She formerly served as Health Officer at Ingham County Health Department and served as an assistant professor in Michigan State University’s (MSU) Master of Public Health program. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, her Master of Public Administration from Western Michigan University, and her PhD in Medical Sociology from MSU.
Dr. Canady is a national leader in public health policy. She assumed her role as Chair-Elect of iMPROve Health effective May 2025. In May 2026, Dr. Canady will assume the role of Board Chair, succeeding Melissa Werbish, LNHA, CDP, CNA, who currently serves as Chair of the iMPROve Health Board of Directors.
